 COVID-19 Updates:
– Parade, park activities, and fireworks have been canceled for 2020
The Smyrna Clayton July 4th Foundation and Parade is the oldest July 4th Parade held annually in the State of Delaware. Its committee is made up of local residents of the Smyrna & Clayton area that meet Monthly at the Clayton Fire Company at 300 East St. in Clayton on the first Sunday of each month at 6:30 pm. The group besides sponsoring the annual July 4th Parade also sponsor the annual St Patrick’s Day Parade which is held in Smyrna each year, the Annual Christmas Day Parade which is held each year on the 1st Sunday in December at dusk each year, the Memorial Tree Lighting Service which is held immediately following the Christmas Parade at the Clayton Firehouse, a queens contest, a Baby Contest, along with other fundraising events.
The July 4th Parade alternates each year between the 2 towns and will be held on July 4th in Smyrna in 2018 to help the Town of Smyrna Celebrate their 250th Anniversary.
